Love you Through It

Prakriti 7

If you are having a challenging time, perhaps you are feeling down and don’t know where to turn, always remember that there is a very loving Source of Life that will lead you through it.  When our hearts are stretched as far as we think it can and we cannot make any sense of the life we are living, the compassion and love of Spirit through our loved ones, will guide us to a safe landing.

This morning I listened to a very touching song that a group of children sang to their teacher who is dealing with cancer.  They very passionately and lovingly sang this songs with their hearts open wide.  It is on YouTube, and the song is… “I’m gonna love you through it.”

Someone very close to my heart is having a very tough time for the past year.  I want to take her pain away and make sure that she lands safely on the other side of her sadness. When I heard the song that the children sang, “I’m gonna Love you Through It,” it was exactly how I am feeling.  I will be a safe place for her when she needs me.  I am going to love her through it.

When our emotions are so intense and we find that we cannot see the goodness and love that is in our lives, regardless of what else is going on, that is when we are so blessed to reach out to a power greater than ourselves.  Our limitations are our own, and the tangled strings of thoughts and memories are plugging us into a pain body that is lodged in our hearts and brains and at the moment we cannot see past them.

There is a Way!  There is a loving Presence that will help us beyond any of our thoughts or fears.  We just have to reach out and take one step at a time.  There is a Loving Presence that knows you better than you know yourself and you are never alone.

Know that you are deeply Loved,   Rev. Barb

Healing the Shadow

DSCN1895

What are the polarizing energies that engage our thoughts, attitudes and well being that appears to pull us up to an uplifting mood or drags us in the opposite direction with attitudes that can cause us to come sliding down in an instant.  The waves of energies we are experiencing on the planet right now can stir our most human emotions and disturb the best of even mindedness.    Some may call this a Shadow Effect of the collective unconscious.  Others may call it the “sub” of the subconscious.  We all have it to various degrees and the universe is uprooting the delusion and denial of the unhealed parts of ourselves individually and collectively.

The Subconscious holds great wisdom and intelligence within us and has the power to bring up the best that is within us when it is positive, uplifting and harmonious.  Hidden within the unconscious realm of the subconscious one will also find incongruous feelings, thoughts and attitudes that we have inherited, planted in previous life times, or in moments of individual and collective confusion, sadness and fear that have programmed mixed messages within us.   The current popular name for these shadows of fear, separation and delusion of separateness from one another, our Source and our planet have changed over the centuries, but essentially they are rising to the surface to be healed now more than ever.

We are One.  What shows up on one level is operating for all of us on one point or another.  Healing the hidden frequencies of fear and separation is the clarion call of our times.  No one is exempt from the inner surrendering calling us to an urgent appeal to do something to stretch beyond the patterns that imprison our highest selves.

So if we are to heed the call of a “world that works for everyone” we must pull out the hidden awareness that is screaming for us to pay attention and heal.  We need to listen to our higher selves.  We need to do something different than we have ever done.  We must call forth the Divine that is within us to help us to rise above the enslaving past to a new day of great peace and joy.

It is possible.  It is awaiting our willingness to call forth the seeds of greater peace and well being that is within us.  Isn’t it time that we loosen the grip that is imprisoning us all.  With the help of Spirit we will rise above the past and soar to a new level of harmony. I will be going more deeply into this subject in future posts.

Monkey Mind goes Non-Stop

Have you ever noticed that there is a voice within you that never shuts up?  I really put a significant amount of effort to keep my own Prakriti 7energy focused and uplifting and there are times when that crazy making “monkey mind” can run over my best of intentions.

Most of us make all kinds of attempts at changing something on the outside when the issue is within us.  Our psyche is on over load when we cannot break through and move past the incessant mind that is constantly telling us what to do and what not to do.  It is always directing our lives to one thing or another, dividing our attention, our thoughts, our likes and dislikes.  Always passing approving and disapproving opinions of everyone and everything.

Monkey Mind starts problems within us and divides our energy. exhausting us and consuming the best of our potential creativity.  It always has an issue that needs our attention and it goes on and on until we get caught up in trying to fix something on the outside that cannot be fixed from a broken mental outlook.  Endless problems will only take us into endless circles of fear, grief and anxiety.

We want to fix it, and ourselves and stop the nutty suggestions that our minds make up to solve some inner concern that it makes up.  It is a delusion and a full out lie based in fear that was generated from a very dysfunctional and disturbed part of our psyche.  Monkey Mind misleads us and wastes our energy.

The problem that is really bothering us is rooted in some thought or belief that we are feeling such as we are “not enough” and do we do not feel complete in ourselves.  So whatever the root issue, we have to get to that because the Monkey Mind will make endless attempts to divert us away from the truth that is the core issue that we are not fully aware of and is hiding from the light of awareness.

Observe your own thoughts for a while. Write them down in a journal if you can. Be a dedicated watcher of your most inward thoughts.  You are not those thoughts!  You are the one who is aware and watching the thinking and where  those thoughts, if believed, can take you.

Stay with me.  We will be going ever more deeply into your true Self.

Are you Hiding Out?

1381644_594206667283333_1578599035_nI love to watch the deer that are all around the community where I live in the hills of Northern California.  I so enjoy watching the circle of life each year as they have their precious babies in the trees, keeping them safe from the predators they fear.

In observing the deer I have noticed a human parallel in the impulses that cause a deer to run away.  When someone or something triggers a hot button within us, for whatever reason, the trigger caused by the perceived threat ignites and the heart starts pumping faster and faster.  What causes you to react in your heart?  I have observed people freezing up, or watched them being unkind to others or have witnessed rude comments expressed to someone who innocently walks into their space.  That is exactly what happens when a deer hears a sudden sound and reacts with fear.

Even though we rarely face life-threatening dangers, many people defend themselves psychologically rather than physiologically.  We can struggles with our inner fears, insecurities, damaging, critical, and hurtful behavior patterns.  The struggle resides within us and they need our realization because if it triggers us, it is inside of us begging to be healed.

Many people tend to defend the space around us.  Some people defend their self-concept, others guard hidden emotional territories and possessions and when triggered and unexamined can cause great confusion and hurt in others. All of this drama is our version of running into the woods and hiding, like a deer, behind a tree.

Recently I witnessed a mature spiritual teacher move toward a random person rather than say hello to someone she was clearly uncomfortable with.  The look on her face was quite revealing even though I had no idea what actually motivated her.

People know exactly how to close down their hearts and put up psychological barriers.  If you discover that you are doing some of that and you are working very hard to avoid discomfort or pain, it is causing you to close your heart down and it is shutting innocent people out.

Guarding our hearts and energy centers only serves to make the world a colder and indifferent place.  Life will stir our energies when we are hiding from old fears and wounds lodged in your energy centers that are called samskars in Yoga.  This is what causes all of our physical, emotional and energetic trouble in our bodies.  It will show up in every area of our lives.  I believe that it eventually  greatly impacts and effects the whole planet.  We are all One.

Who you are does matter and what you do sends out ripples of love and inclusiveness or pain and separation.  What will you choose to bring forth today?

Integrating our Life Lessons

DSCN2146Are you noticing emotional patterns in your life?  I have realized that my life serves up some of the same lessons over and over.  This is one of the more obvious indicators that there is something going on that we have yet to glean the wisdom from the situations and circumstances in our lives.

When we keep having similar situations come up in our relationships, our work environments, our sense of self-esteem, or we see our own reactive attitudes and feelings… we are always the common denominator.

It is no secret that we are living in challenging times.  That is why I chose to focus on this topic because I am noticing that many people are having a difficult time with the changes happening on so many levels.

I find myself practicing my breathing exercises more often when stresses come up in my life. They really help me.  I take two swift and deep inhalations through my nose and I exhale those two focused breaths through my mouth.  A few rounds of that exercise helps me release the accumulated stress that I can feel when I am observing myself in the midst of a change that has not completed itself.

We heal and change in stages.  If we are intentional about healing the patterns within us that are obstacles to our happiness, joy and inner peace, we will grow.

Being fully awake and aware while “in the process” is not at all easy in fragile moments.  Self doubt and age old fears can come up.  They are recurrent patterns that we have blocked from our self realization. If we do not accept the lessons into our awareness, we build another layer of resistance, which is a magnet for anger, sadness and isolation.

I work at staying conscious of my process, especially in moments when I know that I am not at my best.  As soon as I can, I go within and question myself without judgement.  I ask myself if I am understanding what is going on within and around me.  Are my perceptions true?

I must ask Spirit for help. My daily practice is to do my very best to stay attuned to God.  To continue to grow spiritually I must understand myself and the others in my life.  That takes availability.  I have to open my heart and mind and energy centers to a greater picture of what is actually taking place and move the energy to the next level in my process.

On a soul level we lack the information that we need to process the situation.  Maybe I am needing more love and compassion for myself and others.   Maybe it is just the mirror of my past floating through my awareness and if I can bless it and release it to Spirit and ask for guidance… the compassionate creative medium … Divine Mother…. will help me see the bigger picture in due time.

Like the Buddhist path reminds us.  We need to be aware that we are suffering.  Having the awareness and opening ourselves to see the patterns is a doorway that leads us to our next stage of our growth and transformation.

Listen to Your Heart

IMG_0770

Our hearts can be opened in so many ways.  It has a inner awareness that nothing in the outer world can come close to. Our hearts are lifted in joy, are expanded with love, cracked open in grief and elevated on a deeply attuned spiritual path.  We can influence our hearts awakening by the intentions we hold, yet the deeply moving and transformational growth comes from a higher place within us.   .

Sincere and authentic service helps to create new pathways in our brains that support the expansion of our hearts to to needs of others.  When we serve a higher purpose than our egos, our wants, our goals…. we can step on to an invisible bridge that is made of light.  The transcendental light of love builds bridges and heals wounds that nothing in this world of density can compare to.  Trying to understand the realm of the “heart” from our head is useless.

Everyone has the capacity to open their hearts.  Recently my family had our collective and individual hearts cracked open when one of our family members committed suicide.  It threw us into an emotional vulnerability that waves across our hearts and brings up feelings of guilt, regret, sadness, and an endless list of “what if’s.”   Everyone of us asked ourselves why we did not see this coming.  What could I have done that would have helped or even stopped this tragedy.  There are many things in life that are completely out of our control.

If we listen to our hearts beyond the grief and ask for help from Spirit… eventually we will find an inner peace and acceptance of the choices that life is revealing.  We don’t choose these experiences and would never invite them into our lives, and no one ever plans for them.  Never the less, there is a light shining in, around and through them that is leading us beyond the pain and suffering that is showing up in our life time.

May the power of Spirit guide your way.  Know that you are loved.   Rev. Barb

Communicating from the Heart

Rev Barb at Ananda gardens

For many years now, I have been dedicated to creating conscious, honest and connected communication.  My early years were spent with people that were snappy or brisk and it left several imprints upon me as well as an overly sensitivity.  Now that I have done a lot of inner work, I grown in different ways than my early family and mentors.  That does not mean that I am perfect at it nor does it mean that I am always charming, overly enthusiastic or bubbly in my relationships. It is a practice and I know that I am enough.  What it means is that I am mostly conscious, I am doing my best and I am being authentic in my communications with others.  I speak, listen and take actions from my heart and I am dedicated to making course corrections as I go and I am being genuine in my connections.

We know when we have not had a successful connect and communications with others. There is a distance and a lack of harmony.  The communication is not at all heart centered and we do not feel a connection.  It feels like a wall is in the way.  When I feel the frustration of not being more effective, this feeling inspires me to call upon Spirit and I release it as best I can.  I address the situation with my most authentic attention, and I have practices that ground me in my heart and it does affect my communications and relationships in divine timing.

When I am tired or not feeling as good as I can, I notice that the energy of a genuine connection is missing and it leaves me feeling disconnected.  When I make a heart centered connection with myself and others, I have a greater feeling of being whole, genuine and it boosts my self respect.

This week, perhaps you are willing to practice heart centered communication with the people in your life.  It is well worth the outcome and saves a whole lot of energy that is wasted in second guessing ourselves.

Know that You are Loved.  Blessings,  Rev. Barb
