What do we listen to?

Listen to Truth

In fragile moments when we are feeling vulnerable, those are the times when we can let the subconscious mind intrude upon us and throw us off course.   If we listen to the voice of truth we will lift our energy.  If we are seduced by the ego, it is likely that we will slide into the quick sand of a downward pull into negativity. With determination we can learn to live in harmony with the truth of our being.  We are absolutely one with God and God is Love!

Love Can Purify Us

Like most people, I have to work at my daily spiritual practices.  I choose each day and sometimes many times through out my day, to actively go deeper into my inner spiritual work.    When the ego (our little self) is pulling me into some kind of drama I must do my best to realize what is happening.  Some kind of red flag is waving before me and my higher self can bring forth a greater understanding and awareness of how I am perceiving.   What lens am I looking through?

The ego reveals our unconscious beliefs that have not been lifted into a higher field of consciousness.   Love always wants to bring us into the light if we choose it.  Are we really listening when we get feedback that reveals something within us that needs our undivided and heart centered love and compassion.   When we defend a position that our ego takes in any situation, it is because we are believing an attack thought.   Everything comes up to be healed and placed upon the altar of the Holy Spirit or Divine Presence.

Practice the Presence of God

In moments of greater awakening I am able to “Practice the Presence.”  I feel greater joy and connection in those times. When I am not feeling as strong I have to use spiritual tools that help me remember my truth.   If I am buying into what feels like attack, I have to remember that the only real attack takes place within my own perception and my patterns from the subconscious that need to be healed.   Regardless of where the trigger comes from, the internal belief system is convinced that it is not safe and someone or something else is attacking me.

Some spiritual practices believe in Satan.   I struggle with that idea because I feel like the responsibility for our thoughts lies within us.  This is hard to swallow sometimes and we are far more comfortable believing that the attack is coming from outside of us.   My practice is that I keep turning all unhealed thoughts, attitudes and beliefs over to the “sacred purifying fire” and focus my energy in the third eye or frontal lobe of my brain where we all have access to super-consciousness or Christ Presence.

Do not Fear

Do not be afraid of the ego.” It does depend on your mind and, as you made it by believing in it, so you can dispel it by withdrawing belief from it. Do not project the responsibility for your belief in it onto anyone else, or you will preserve the belief. When you are willing to accept sole responsibility for the ego’s existence yourself, you will have laid aside all anger and all attack because they come from an attempt to project responsibility for your own errors.   But having accepted the errors as yours, do not keep them. Give them over quickly to the Holy Spirit to be undone completely so that all their effects will vanish from your minds and from the Sonship as a whole.”  ~ ACIM Tx.7.88

I find the Course helps me let go of the slippery attitudes that I am not aware of that slide into my thinking and feelings. Learning to turn things over to Spirit is one tool that I use regularly because I appear to have a considerable land fill with stuff in there that I have no idea of how they got there, but they are there and I want to transmute these faulty message and replenish my inner soil.

Affirmation:

I listen to the Truth that I and my Father are one.  Love is always present in my life.

Know that you are Loved!    Rev. Barb
